We are glad to announce the release of SyncMyCal 2.1, which now supports Color labels for events during synchronization. With this feature, events in Outlook which are synchronized from Google calendars can be colored. So, all of you who have been using multiple Google calendars for synchronization with a single Outlook calendar can now actually differentiate which item belongs to which Google calendar. The features employs color labels present in Outlook and is available for Outlook 2003 Pro, Outlook 2003 basic and Outlook XP/2002 versions for SyncMyCal.

So, go ahead and get your copy from http://www.syncmycal.com/google_calendar_synchronization.htm

I purchased syncmycal but never received the e-mail activation code. No response from your support service as of yet. I am very disappointed by your service.

I like this feature but I need it for Outlook 2007. Why was it not included for 2007?

I think before Outlook 2007, Label and Category were two different concepts and now in Outlook 2007, Categories themselves have colors.

So, i think what you can do is that when you download the events you can set "Use Categories" as Up and then set the "Tag Outlook items with these additional categories" (create a new Master Category with some color) and set that with this category. I think, that should solve your purpose.

Thanks lukewarm,

As you know Outlook 2007 allows for connecting with Google Calendars (Internet Calendars). However, for various reasons I don't want to use it. However, you can set Colors for each calendar and that is what I was looking for. I have a few Calendars (Work, Personal, Golf) and I just want each to have a separate color like is available now with Internet Calendars. I want all events from each calendar to have it's own color. Do not care about a different color by catagory. However, if not posible that is what I will look into.

Hi d21mike,

We did analyze this feature on Outlook 2007 before releasing for Outlook 2003 and 2002/XP.

Actually, the color label can be set through the Syncmycal for Outlook 2007 in the similar manner as with Outlook 2003 but the problem is that the set color label will get cleared as soon as you set any category on that appointment item. So, the whole purpose of setting color label gets lost.

Anyways, We are looking into the ways to support this and will release this feature for Outlook 2007 as well when we get a solution.

Please do not forget that there are still lots of poor people working with Outlook 2000.

Is Outlook 2000 remaining on your roadmap? Please!

I am looking forward to being able to sync color categories from Outlook 2007 with gCal. A little clarification here: are you working on a solution that will color code my events from Outlook so that they have the same colors in gCal?
